Kindermusik begins soon!
ABC Music & Me, created by Kindermusik International, is a music enrichment program designed specifically for preschool age children. The program is offered in monthly units with weekly 40-minute classes. Each lesson also emphasizes a different area of child development: coordination, listening skills, early exposure to reading skills, confidence, and vocal expressiveness.
This month we’ll think & talk in patterns of 3s. In class we’ll sing songs that help your child seek & find that pattern, such as singing Row, Row, Row Your Boat. Even the things in your Home Kit this month come in 3s - when you listen to the music, share the activities, and splash around with the blow-up beach ball!!
~~ Ages 2 ½ - 5 years (including early 5’s not already in kindergarten)
~~ Parent or caregiver joins the class for the final ten minutes
~~ 40-minute classes begin September 14, 2009
~~ Class meets on Mondays at 2:00 and runs 4 weeks

Classes are on Monday afternoons Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24, &31.
Class time is 2:00 - 2:40 with parent or care-giver attending for the final 10 minutes.
Class Material/Registration Fee is $22 (holds your spot in the class & orders materials)
Class Fee is $75 (covers 5 class sessions)
This month, we’re taking pretend adventures to the mountains, the beach, and going on bike rides, and picnics. Meanwhile, your toddler gets lots of practice taking turns and interacting socially. And you’ll love the take-home activities in your Home Kit, with great ideas for making an easy-at-home bird feeder. Plus, when you incorporate these class activities into your playtime at home, you’re sharing in the learning happening in class.

Walking in the 5K Run for Oaks Marathon
FYI -
Tomorrow I will be walking in the 5K Run for the Oaks Marathon here in Raleigh! It is a fund raiser for the city - it helps them purchase Oak trees to plant in and around the city.
As this is my first Marathon, wish me luck!!

My Current Favorite Music C.D.'s
Periodically I will post a few of my top favorite music c.d.'s.
For this month, I would like to recommend "Indian Elephant Tea" by The Big Kidz Band featuring Skip Ewing. Skip was one of the key-note speakers at our 2008 Kindermusik convention. He is a wonderful musician! We thoroughly enjoy his CD. It was available on Amazon.com, and is also available through the Kindermusik website in the store. In my classes at the preschool and in my ABC Music & Me Kindermusik class, the version of "If you're happy and you know it" is from this CD!!

ABC music & Me class
I would like to welcome each of my new ABC Music & Me Kindermusik students
and families!! I am very excited to begin teaching this new class as we usher in
this new year!
As a reminder, our new class begins on January 5th 2009 and is meeting in the
music classroom at New Hope Baptist Church. Please use the same entrance you
use for the preschool car pool line. Class starts at 1:30. Parent or caregiver joins
us at 2:00 for the final 10 minutes.
Please be sure that I know who will be joining your child for the final 10 minutes, or
who I am authorized to release your child to. I do not want to let your child go home
with someone they shouldn't go home with!!

If you have borrowed a "loaner" book, please remember to bring it back this week.
Please check your students white binder and be sure they bring all of the books
we will need for lessons. We are getting back into our regular lessons now, and
won't need our Christmas books again.
New Policy for 2009:
